This is the first question everyone asks when they buy an S2. This is just to test the diaphram.

      Welcome!

Don't worry there's not meant to be anything connected to the top of the wastegate.

The boost is meant to reduce at high RPM, but there are other ECU/Turbo experts here who could say more. Is your car chipped do you know? Are you noticing any hesitation or jerking issues with car on full throttle?

The diaphragm is part of the wastegate. That port that is unconnected is only used if you need to test to see if the diaphragm is damaged/ worn out...

It is there so that the wastegate operation can be checked if there is a problem.

Martin 0.4bar sounds about right for a standard S2 if you have you WGFV disconnected at the moment. Check the WGFV is connected and working and you should get 1-1.1bar on over boost then.

                      If Martin's got a 92, will that still be a 3B?

Hi Martin, welcome to the forum
Where abouts are you from? As it will help people answer in a way that should be as understandable as possible for yourself to read

WFGV = Waste Gate Frequency Valve, there is a valve that controls the boost pressure, if it is not plugged in then you will only get the amount of boost allowed by the spring in the waste gate.

Check for a plug that isnt connected in that area.
