Yes a short combi spanner is a good tool for this, for tightening tie a piece of strong cord to the ring end and pull upwards through the gap behind the IM.

Put the car in a high gear and roll _forward_ onto the crank zero mark and check the dissy marks. (This makes sure the slack is taken up in the right direction) Roll back a way, roll forward again and recheck.

still havnt got round to moving the dizzy about as i cant see how you undo it!
inlet plenium etc is in the way and i cant get that off also! (well without removing several things to do so!) still quite boggled as to why when trying to get codes off the ecu its just showing a solid red light, even took it to get diagnosed and they couldnt get anything from it(but they did manage to make the aircon and heater fans stop working, anyone know anything about this?) but ive got something here saying the ecu has been checked and is fine, from the previous owner! anyone know why its just showing a solid red light?
and is there anyone in hampshire (UK) or close to that could give me a hand fixing it for a bit of dosh? need to get it done as time of using another car is running out

        Cheers
        Steve

Ther is an anti tamper plate over the distributor nut, check first to see if this is still in place or has been removed at a previous time.

Distributor bolt is 13mm...if you need to remove the antitamper cover you will need to chisel, cut or drill it off....if you have bolt extractor or anticlockwise drill bit you may be lucky enough to use a drill in reverse to remove the cover.

                    car now running,

                    1 fooked ecu

                    1 fooked fuel pump

timming belt was 3 teeth out

other than that not a bad motor!!!

spent all day saturday on it but by 4'o clock that afternoon we were blasting round in it

not been run for over a year so there were a few cob webs to blow out!
