PapVas don't change anything, yet!
If you have to get close to the source to hear it, then it is the same noise that mine makes and it has not got any worse in 12 months. I will check on T2Andys car as it is low miles (60k)
I think that they make this noise from new!Kingdoms are run by Kings, Dictatorships are run by Dictators.

i went and bought an autometer boost guage and let the guy there listen to the sound...he thought it was basic sound of the engine, not tappets.
are tappets heard from inside the car cabin??
Billman,im sorry i tried to take off the plug you showed me but it was too damn hot.Got burnt twice lol!!
will try it again someother time.
My oil pressure gauge is always at 1bar no matter how high the oil level is.Now that i have toped the oil dip stick level,it still reads 1bar in idle.
I think its the 10/40 oil.I will think of changing it to 10/60 soonComment

If its at the top of the marker on the dipstick and still only getting 1 bar then i wouldnt just chuck thicker oil in, i'd want to know why pressure is still so low!!!
IMO if the oil is filled correctly and pressure is still that low then it must be thinner oil than 10w40, if its not then maybe the pickup for the oil is clogged up or something?Ant

just a small update of things...
turns out my mechanic assured me that the sound heard is normal, coming out of the injectors,in combination with the blue plug behind the engine Billman was referring to(i dont remember what he said that was for..)
Anyway, this means that my low pressure is at least not producing any tappets.
As for the 1bar idle problem,he thinks it may be a different oil filter use.He will check that first, also check the sensor sender,as the gauge is mechanical and rarely wrong(its either broken or not),and then go on to change the oil if things do not improve.
He will be changing the headgasket,as oil level may have dropped from there.
another week in(not that it takes that long, but he also has to do a big cleaning job on the GT2 brakes to stop them from humming all the way),but i will be in England for a week,so that will give him all the time to work everything out.
cheers
