    Engine delivery Question

    Hello.

I have a question that is probably more suited for Doug or Mihnea but I want to share it with everybody.

I have all RS2 mods with a better exhaust and Mihnea chip was giving me almost 2,2 bar peak boost so to prevent any long term turbo damage I asked MRC to send me another map with lower peak boost. They did perfectly.

I also had a stronger spring for the first chip, with the new one Doug told me to reuse the original spring.

So all this to say I changed the chip and opened the wastegate for the less strong wastegate spring.

Car runs smoother at WOT but the turbo behaves as it has an on-off swich, I find it almost impossible to press the gas and hold 1 bar boost for example, something I could do before without any problem. Is either around 0-0,5 bar or the full 1,9 bar boost. Also eveytime I change gear the turbo takes a very long time to spool up. I know this car have lag but this one is not normal and it did not happened with the 2,2 bar chip and the stiffer spring.

So anybody has any idea what might be wrong. At first hand I could think of the wastegate spring or diaphragm.

    Thanks in advance.
    Rafael

Boost control is maybe TP vs. RPM(and boost)? If so the chip may need some adjustment.
Have you tried the other spring just to see what happens?
About lag: Is the DV working as it should?

      Cheers,
      Roger

I will try the other spring.

DV was not touched and everything was very good before except too much boost.

        Thanks Roger

            I dont know.

I sent first time the whole ECU to Mihnea and then I received the modified boost chip from MRC.

I must be using the standard Mihnea MAP sensor for RS2

id suggest that you get the car re mapped on a rolling road - something dosent sound right to me

Hello, yesterday was holiday in Spain and I could change back to the stiffer spring.

Car behaves much, much better in power delivery. I can choose how fast I want to go.
With the other spring is like the wastegate, wastes everything except when you go WOT.

The problem now is the one I had before. If i give it WOT I get 2,2-2,3 bars on RS2 setup and I think its to close to the limit of the turbo.

I think I need another chip build for the stiffer spring with a slightly less top boos (down to 1,9) that is what i get with the standard spring. Any MRC guys around? I will send you back all the chips when car behaves well

                  Cheers,
                  Rafael
