What happens if the small Coolant pums is broken?

Well,

As topic says, what happens if the small coolant pump brakes?

Because when i drive the coolant container drops from max to some place below min. Sometimes i get the warning signal for low coolant level, however when i turn off the car, the coolant slowly returns to the container.

Can this in anyway be due to a broken "small coolant pump"?

mine blew the end off so i looped it out with a piece of copper pipe till i got i new one,(i still havent) if you did this you could see if it made any differance

Don't think it has anything to do with the coolant after run pump. Sounds more like the system could do with a good bleeding to purge any air trapped in there. Due to a leaking radiator, I end up with a similar problem when the engine warms up. Level is fine when cold and drops slightly when it heats up. Probably due to the thermostat opening, allowing coolant to be pumped around the whole system. In fact, if you let it get too low the heater stops blowing warm air Have you filled the system and removed the bleed nipple from the heater hoses and the one on the top of the radiator?

No i have not done this, perhaps i should give it a go

I just did as someone else suggested to unscrew and the lit to the coolant container and let it run in idle. But will try to bleed the system, to see if this helps.
