Out of interest, Steve. How fast were you going when you created those "S" rods? Did the engine cut out straight away, or what? Just curious, when I bought my type 89 Coupe q, it had a lovely peephole in the block @ # 2 zyl, the previous owner swore the KV engine kept going till it ran out of oil and seized up! :confused:

Siena.. The car still ran with the rods bent like they are! There was a nasty knocking like a big end had let go. Other than that, it was still a runner.
The damage was done on a hard drag through the gears, so I'm not sure exactly when it happened...somewhere between 2nd and 4th gear

Carillo got back to me in email. Sweeper was right. Rods are 262 each, they are out of stock, but will have some in about 6 weeks.
Tha bad news. NO GROUP BUY. Bummer.

Checkout my info on Pauter and Carrillo prices in the 'group buy' section if you're interested in upgrading. I'll need to check, but I think the Pauter rods were £700 GBP, not £750

At the current exchange rate 700GBP is 1233 USD for the Pauter.
Carillos are 1048USD plus shipping without a group buy.
