RS2 Competition Turbo

I've been runnig GT2871R in my RS2 for about a year, IMO it is better than RS2 in every aspect. Last dynoed figures are 440 Hp and 580Nm and steppping on gas with 2,8 krpm or more and boost is instant.

Have you got a dyno plot? what other mods have u done?

In truth - who cares about how this turbo is called - rs2 comp or K24 competition or 7200 competition - take the turbo apart and measure the compressor wheel diameter - if You've found it bigger than the original - then You can also know that the compressor cover doesn't stay original and have been mated! Can one place it in line with rs2 and call it the same turbo? No! Turbo response changes radically with these mods. That's my point of view.

Have to agree with Krists on this one... who gives a damn whether the turbo officially exists or not! We know it does, and that it has a larger compressor wheel. All I'd be interested in now, is what advantages it has over the "stock" RS2 unit - I'm almost intrigued enough to fit one, visit a dyno, and go find out

Tubular ex manifold, 3" turbo back, no cat, flowed head, intake cam turned to open slightly earlier, big MAF, verdi rods, arp bolts etc.

also, do you have you MAF on the pressure side?

MAF is on the intake side and filter is inside the bumper, in front/side of the oil cooler.

DV is connected to pressure pipe (a short runner welded into it)

How come you have almost no boost before 3Krpm is it from your boost map

There isn't one but internal WG

Boost is contoled by motronic. There isn't more boost below 3 krpm because this turbo won't make pressure with low air mass. It got better after intake cam was turned bit earlier, next step is to turn it more.

im having my turbo serviced (Original stock RS2 turbo).Is there something i should tell the mechanic doing the job to look for or make sure he replaces with original equipment?

What is replaced in a turbo service?I have heard of turbo service kits.Are the wheels replaced?What internals are being looked at?Anyone done this to give me some input?

it has done 137K kms and i just wanted to have it serviced for better working.

Tell them to use good quality 360 Thrust bearings at least!

On a service if the wheels are not damaged they use them again!

Now i'm worried I got a Gt3071 and was hoping for early spoolup.
I've got a 7a cam for it so maybe i just have to wait and see...

Getting my 3" downpipe made up.
Going to look very similar to your install Kalsket.

I'm sticking the airfilter in front of the oilfilter, had to cut sum plastic to get ther..
U got any pictures of your filter location ?

It gives nice everyday power from 2k up but real fun starts bit later.

Hope you have your turbo with smaller turbine housing or it will have lag.
