Last couple of days ive been getting the engine oil warning light come on. The engine oil level is always ok. Seems to happen on fast acceleration, moving on an incline or when taking sharp bends. It will come on flash 3 times then disappear. any ideas? It has been recently been serviced but i topped up the engine oil with 'possibly' a different make of engine oil. could this cause the warning light to come on?
Need some advice/help

no cause if it was unpluged it would be on all the time, i thought it was a dodgy connection but checked em and all was well so thinking the switch is on its way out, havent bothered changing mine because engines coming out in a couple of weeks so ill do it then to save a bit of skin on the back s of my hands!

oil light
i had this same thing happen and it turned out id got the wrong oil filter of a parts supplier after asking for s2.
i got a thingy one and when i changed it back to the propa job the light never came on again... touch wood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
also mixing oil can cause problems you know not makes but types of oils semi full etc can case a froth in the oil and the oil pump can not pick this up and send it around the engine which can cause huge problems....Comment

slight update. it is now dumpin oil on the street. leave it over night and on the driver side under the bonnet/bumper it leaves a nice bit of oil
. Ive had into a garage and they ran it for an hour and it only dropped a penny size oil drop. the garage say they will have to strip it (left bank they reckon)and clean it before they can see but 'they dont get involved' in all that arrrrrggggggghhhhhh. not sure what to do? keep topping it up?

I have seen audi oil pressure switches (you can call that "sensor") leaking under pressure or higher rpm. They were leaking through contact with tiny, hard to see stream of oil. I've got loss of oil pressure due to that, and oil on the groundOriginally posted by AbsS2not sure what to do? keep topping it up?
. Solution - replace both switches (on S2 you have only one right, another is not switch, but sensor, and leaks rarely ?). It cost me 10$
. Worth to try IMHO.
