The car has a new WGFV and the overboost has worked since that was fitted, it's only stopped working recently, I'll check the throttle settings with VAG-COM to see if they match the values quoted by Paul.

so after me seeing these reading and reading the above thread i decided to open my altitude sensor and adjust the metalic strip inside until i got a steady reading of 1280kohm between pins 1-2.
Jumped into car convinced my boost troubles would be over
drove the car round local streets until warm then headed for private track for some tests, i stil can only get a maximun 1.2 bar boost in all 6 gears on a homefried
car
the boost battle continues
No it's defo load related, S2entral.net test for it is to floor it up a hill in 4th gear and you should see 1.1 boost
I too only seem to have overboost available. It does seem to me that it is based on the speed of throttle opening as well as WOT, but I have a major problem....I live in East Anglia....THERE ARE NO HILLS
The closest thing I have within probably 30 miles is a fly over, but its damn hard to hit full boost up a flyover in 4th and still make it around the roundabout in one piece
Is there any way of testing this more scientifically, for flat road use? For instance, is it possible to hook up VAGCOM whilst driving and see a read out that says overboost is being used?
