        Carrillo Price

I received an email from Carrillo yesterday. They are starting a production run on the rods (same as 1.8L VW GTI). They quoted me $262.00 per rod (USD). At current exchange rates, I don't know if it would be worth while to do a group purchase here in the US and ship to Europe.

        Just a thought.

Already got an email from Carrillo. They will not do a group purchase.

I just thought that if this was a significant savings over the prices quoted those in Europe, someone here could order a number of sets (with prepayment) and ship them over.

You're right, the exchange rate does favor the Sterling and the Euro right now.

I live in California. If someone wants me to try this out let me know. What I can do is buy a set of rods for myself. Get the weight of the item and then I could figure out the shipping.

              Just a thought.

Second thought. Not a good idea for me to pick them up and then ship them. Since I am a resident of California, I would have to pay tax. 8.5%. That would probably be more than the shipping. Better for Europe to buy direct from Carillo and have them shipping directly.

If we really want to work all the angles, we get someone out of state to buy them (Cal state tax get's waived) and put them in a consolidated container described as used/refurbished goods. Just incase they want to slap import tax on the rods, we send them to the country in Europe with the lowest sale tax and redistribute from there
