Seems boring but I'll be relying on my Procon -Ten if I crash. Funnily enough I'll then also be glad of every extra kilo to dissipate the impact forces.

Still - it'll never happen now will it?

Conversely, every extra kilo will actually increase the forces in the event of an accident - but (a) the forces will transfer into whatever you hit (depending on how soft or hard the object is, this may be a good or a bad thing), and (b) the ProConTen will tension the belts and yank the steering wheel away from your head! Of course, this all assumes a head-on impact, anything else and ProConTen won't be much use anyway...

im sure fitting the 18 S8 wheel has blunted the performance as well as the s8 disks they are so heavy over standard.

I wont know until i try and fit it I was told the transmission tunnel is smaller on the CQ so the cable guides for the Procon Ten foul on parts of the gearbox. Its extra weight so i want to ditch it anyway.

I may be getting the wrong end of the stick, but don't we generally like our audi's specifically because they're not superlight tin cans?

If you want to lose weight, buy rice...

Well, you could look at this another way Hiltoa - if you started out with rice, it would be difficult to get any more weight off the car, whereas we have lots to play with!

I'm just teasing. Yes I like the solidity of my Audi, but there are many parts which really don't need to be as heavy as they are, and some don't need to be there at all. Other parts are considered a good weight sacrifice, like better brakes or the extra shell stiffness afforded by heavier construction.

But bear in mind that every extra bit of weight is hurting performance and asking more from the durability of mechanical parts (engine, gearbox, drivetrain). Losing weight where it really isn't needed is not a bad thing, is it?

I went from a 740kg 160hp Honda to my 1400kg 170hp CQ, theres a massive difference between the two. Night and Day, Truck vs go-kart. You just wouldnt belive how quickly you can change direction with 740kg. An S2 on a diet would be mind blowing

My 3B weights 1444 kg according to the roadtax forms. But here I read 1420 kg, mine is without airbags, but with sunroof and electric windows... Is this 1420 kg? Still heavy...
