Strange S2 description in VAG-com

I had my mate's S6 on VAG-com today because of some troubleshooting (solved, knackered key-contact) and for a comparison we put my S2 Avant to VAG-com.

But instead of a component discription like: "2.2l R5 MOTR.RHV HS D02" (S2central) or "2.2l R5 MOTR.RHV HS D01" (my mate's S6) it says: "2.264 MTM bla bla".

Dees somebody knows what this mean? Does MTM tampered my S2?

Yeah i would say so. My Hohenester tuned S2 from germany also says "Hohehnester C8 bla bla"

Dunno why MTM do that - only good thing is that its an easy way to spot their work.
But to leave it actually saying 'bla bla' is a bit shoddy looking in my opinion - you'd think they could have written something more meaningful in those chip locations.

If you don't know the ECU's history then I suggest you open it and check that BOTH chips are from MTM. That signature is only written in one chip... You don't want to be running with a ripped/fleabay MTM motor chip on a standard (or unknown) turbo chip.

If they are proper MTM chips then you should be OK. Sorry 'bout confusion over 'bla bla' - I thought that was really weird. D'oh...

I have replaced my cats with bypass pipes, and placed a RS2 IC. Think it's time to remap?

I was thinking: 264 bhp doesn't sound too much, and my little upgrades aren't mapped in. And I don't like the probably old MTM-chips...

So what would you do? Remap?

Sounds like it has been tuned/chipped by SMS (Schmidt MotorSport?)
