i have looked closer now under the safebox and you guys are telling me to take out the old harness and put in the one from aby in the same places. but im not really sure with all the cables who is going to the safebox cause the aby harness is not identical to the 7a so my question is how do i really know that im putting the new cables on the correct places as the old? i have seen that the color of the cables from the aby and the 7a is not always the same correct me if im wrong i have some pictures of the cables that i need some explanation in wich places on the safebox its gonna heading and the pictures its not mine i am just borrowing them for a sec.
on each picture is a code and that is for Bentley wiring diagramsn and i dont have any like that =(

these are the wire you need to disconnect, note some of these may not be connected to anything anyway

these all enter behind the centre console and the pedels,(on a RHD car duno bout LHD) they are also all taped together, you need to drop the fuse box down as well, there are two clips which you push apart from the top, then the fuse box pannel can be pushed down

yes i know where the birds nest is =)

the problem is that i dont have someone with aby near around.. so i dont really know what i should do when im are connecting the new wires in the safebox, cause i dont want to connect the wires on the wrong places. if u understand what i mean.. i dont have any problem to connect the wiring to the engine its just problem with the wiring under the steering wheel and the safebox.

ok so the wires that i am unplugging have the same functionality as the wires in the aby harness. for example i unplugging the fat red one in the safebox from 7a, and then plug in a red wire with the same connector and so on?? in that case i im gonna fix it. another question is the old 7a harness i takinng out, does the new one have all the same functionality. so i dont have to use a part of the old to some other functions??

sorry if im hard to understand sometimes =)

As we are on the subjet of wiring I am in the process of converting a 3B to ABY complete with wiring loom, I found no probem and is fairly straight forward apart from the pulling, pushing, cutting etc, all of the connectors are straight forward swap, except for one and I cannot find any info on it.
On the 3B main loom going below the fuse board there is a 4 or 5 way red flat connector, that connects to some further loom, (behind the auxillary relays) but on the ABY there is no such red connector on the main ECU/engine loom, has anyone got some info on this?
Your help will be greatfully received.

I believed the connector in question is T5h, looking at some of the pictures, but i have no wiring diagram on this one

I'm sure i've seen that connector before under my steering column but i cant find any reference to it in the Bentley manual (for 7A CQ). The blue one is cruise control, and the yellow is onboard computer if that helps. I'm thinking climate control for the red one

What colour are the wires? ..and what do they connect to on the engine loom?
