    Missfire problem, help !!!

Can any of you guys shed some light on what might be causing my intermittent miss fire?

It all started yesterday after about 90 miles of driving after I fitted my new F5DPOR plugs. I fitted the plugs, no problem. I went to see my dad in hospital, again no problem. However when I was about 5 miles from home the thing started to miss fire, mainly under load. I've taken the plugs out, checked everything then put them back and still the misfire is there. I even put the old ones back in, It's still miss firing.

The car is on 171k mileage, ABY lump. Any ideas guys?

I've thought about the coil pack, not sure about the POS though as it's intermittent.

I've also thought about the rubber spark plug connector as these are separate items too

yeh my car started to play up like this and was not looking forward to the exspensive repair bill ( sounded like a subaru with 4 cylinders) and i wrapped the spark plug leads in rubber hose with eletric tape around them as well and hey bingo running like a dream .. ( please note this was done only as a o well no harm in trying ) and yep they lasted for about four months like this an they never failed it was just i did end up bying some in the end as you do ...

BTDT!!! My missfire showed itself worse when I changed the plugs. I ended up completely losing #4 cylinder so I chucked the lot in the bin and did the 1.8T coilpack conversion! It cost less than £150 for everything but just took a bit of time and effort, especially trying to find all the connectors!!

Had that too on our AAN, one of the rubber connectors cracked and it was arcing to the cyl head and missfiring.

It also appears to be temperature related. When it's cold it seems ok but after half a mile or so the misfire starts.

              Any more ideas guys?
