Apparently its a fully synthetic 5w40. What does that really mean? The previous owner said he always used it. Last oil change i had done was by QST i dont know what they used.

Going to attempt the oil change this thursday as im off work. After reading through all the previous threads it seems silkolene 10w50 is the oil to go for. But as im doing this thursday does anyone know who sells it? I would get it from oil man but i need it for thursday. Thanks for your help

My understanding is that synta gold got 'thinner' recently 0-40w IIRC. For that reason I stopped using it.

This is not a true synthetic but a hydrocracked mineral oil... looking at the specs it meets a pretty basic one at that. £13 for 5ltr @ £2.60 per ltr. A decent semi synthetic will cost more then that. Its a case of you get what you pay for.

As for filters, as long as it is oem spec or approved then it does not matter on brand.

                Cheers

                Simon.
