Hmmm. Maybe there are good reasons to watch Star Trek after all! Last I saw was that 60's cheese...I'll have to check out the modern stuff!

I read the thread, because I am also looking for a new dumbvalve. I am searching for a re-circulating dump valve which still makes a bit of noise. What option is the best for me:
              - Standard dump valve
              - s3 dump valve
              - forge dump valve ( 2 models: v006 / fmcl007)
              - bailey dump valve

              thanks in advance,

                or
                FMDV007P

Or is the bailey one better?

Hmmm... I've got a MONZA Super Sequential from Quantumautosport. There were no stall or any other problem... and the sound... mmmm.

when i bought mine from forge i asked them the difference between the two . i was told that the smaller one was made because of lack of space on one of the ford cars it was originally made for other than that both of them are same .and dave cook i've fitted mine same as you but i cant give you any info on it yet car is off the road .

Dave, I had problems with my car surging when I fitted anything but the standard spring. I also found it worked better one way than the other, can't remember which way it is now though On lift off the car still wanted to carry on, wasn't fun in town traffic!

With the dump valve fitted that way round you shouldn't have any problems, boost is acting on the side of the ram Perhaps the valve didn't close properly?

I'd say its the other way from pic above. thats how mine is anyway and how standard valve fits.

Though I have the 'RR' engined ur-quattro. I have a black Forge 007 that I initially fitted 'upright' as Dave's picture above. This was how the original DV was also fitted.

In this position the valve would give off a strange noise on ever gear change, it sounded crap to be honest. So I spoke to Forge and they said to try it the other way round (horizontal), they also said it would also operate more smoothly, which I can understand.
So I did. Its now a lot quieter, unless a big dose of boost is dumped, then it gives a nice subtle little 'woosh' noise.

My only issue now is they originally supplied the valve with a Yellow spring. I'm still not sure if I would be better off with a standard Green one though, my car has a stock 12psi of boost.
