i'm running a forge or bailey(which ever dialynx supplied me with)blow off type and the only trouble is,that it holds open a bit when cruising at 80 making it a touch rich, because of vacuum.so it should just need a bit tighter spring.

Swap you the yellow for a greenOriginally posted by PeteRRThough I have the 'RR' engined ur-quattro. I have a black Forge 007 that I initially fitted 'upright' as Dave's picture above. This was how the original DV was also fitted.
In this position the valve would give off a strange noise on ever gear change, it sounded crap to be honest. So I spoke to Forge and they said to try it the other way round (horizontal), they also said it would also operate more smoothly, which I can understand.
So I did. Its now a lot quieter, unless a big dose of boost is dumped, then it gives a nice subtle little 'woosh' noise.
My only issue now is they originally supplied the valve with a Yellow spring. I'm still not sure if I would be better off with a standard Green one though, my car has a stock 12psi of boost.
I've now got a 007 Forge dump valve that came with a green spring which has been rebuilt before my pruchase.
Looking on the Forge website
Valve Spring color coding
Green - 5-15 PSI
Yellow - 15-23 PSI
Blue - 23-30 PSI
Red - 30 + PSI
Am i correct in thinking i need the yellow spring as the green will be too weak?
I've emailed Forge to see what they think as i was told i'd be better with a blue but have seen other people have had problems running a blue spring in the S2.Comment

i have the original dump valve on the RS2.I cant understand what the objective is with the aftermarket one other than the difference in sound.I barely hear mine now that it is new,it works great,no hoses ever blown off...i cant see the reason on using an aftermarket one.Can someone explain?
thanks
