Has anybody tried this to the cooling system ?

    Hi,

    Recently came to this:

    http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/DEI_..._Relief_96.asp

As we have quite warm summer at the time and I have black car, this sounds like panacea. Has anybody tried that ?

Sounds too good to be true, or at least not to be simple painted water ...

Yeh, thing is since the S2 can only use Audi specified coolant would you trust adding a 3rd party additive too the system?

( God i sound like Mr OEM! )

I would stick with the OEM stuff myself.

                class!

I've used Water Wetter in mine (basically similar stuff to Rad Relief). It didn't seem to make much, if any difference in mine.
I'd just stick with a fresh mix of G12+ and distilled water myself too.

I tried Water Wetter for some reason and can honestly say I noticed no difference whatsoever. I guess it's a bit like homeopathy.

Thank's. It seems to be same as I've thought - coloured and overpriced water

Why does the S2 have to run with specified Audi coolant? Is it because is pink in colour?

Any antifreeze for a mixed alloy/steel system will be ok. I believe the only problems you might experience are if you mix different types of antifreeze/rust inhibitors... G12 and G12plus aren't special, other than being pink!

If you read the blurbs that come on the packets for most of these water wetter's, they say that the properties are reduced the moment you introduce antifreeze to the mix. Sort of negates the effect IMHO.

                              Stick with good 'ole antifreeze.
