    PCV value

    Hi all

Just brought a PCV value from vagparts as mine looks like it is leaking around the top.

I know the problem could be the hoses connected to the PCV value but after looking through some other threads this looks expensive.

Just had a quick question the part I brought didn't come with the plastic cover on the top of it. I'm i able to take the cover of the old one and place it on the new one Or do i need another part?

    Thanks

    Ian

mate are you sure you bought a PCV valve?

It's one piece affair, see below thread

It looks like I might have donw it looks the same as the part in the picture above but within the plastic cap on top. Think I might leave it.

I read your thread how did you go about cleaning out the pipes connected to the pcv value. I'm sure mine could do with a clean.

      Thanks Jamo

Could you read the part number of the part you've got?

Reason i ask is your PCV in the picture is orientated differently to the one i had in my S2

That's the breather outlet that is pressed into the block NOT the PCV valve.

            The PCV valve is 034 129 101 A

Cheers just checked it and yep it has got that part number on it.

Looks like I'll leave it for the time being it don't need changing yet

                Thanks

Your valve is the wrong way round, it should have the handle of the "pan" going downwards. The leak is probably coming from a hole in the pipe below the valve, the oil and heat destroys the rubber.
