    Boost Control

    Hi, i was reading something on Motorgeek and it suprised me.

    There where said that in the Stock Motronic the boost is controlled by the WGFV (the ECU) only in Full throttle. In part throttle it is controlled only by the Wastegate (spring tension). That would mean that in part throttle, even if the Turbo and the exhaust gases are capable for more it is not allowed. Wound it mean that it would have a worse throttle response?

    Is it right? Can be something done there except of changing the wastegate Spring?

    Don't know what is right, and what is wrong, but it can be corrected by electronic boost controller. This is nice, gives you more low down power (if you are not greedy and set it to let's say 0.8 bar ), however ECU loses important instrument to control the boost then it needs.

      Absolute ********!!!!!!! The stock ECU controls boost anywhere above 30% throttle opening!!!

      jeez I still can't believe how much BS is spread on the internet...

          Where does it get the signal from?
          If the throttle pot is shot, would it know that it is open beyond 30% ?

                  @Mihnea

                  Now that you are here, can you tell us at what Intake temp the motoronic starts to retard the ingnition?

                  When the Intake Temps are high it also takes the boost back and how much?

                    Go on then, if you must, or you could just answer a direct question
