this is how the dizzy should look at TDC

the bottom pully should line up with the marker, (if you cant find a marker i put a bar through the spark plug hole in cyl no. 1 and wind it by hand on the crank to TDC

dot on the top pully should line up with a arrow cast into the rocker cover

dosent really matter which way you put the dizzy in as long as you can get the plug on,

then just line the two lines on inner wheel and the outer casing of the dizzy

job done!

oh forgot to mention, if your going to do this while the engine is in the car you need to cutt an 13mm ring spanner to about 70mm long and remove your idel control valve and a couple of other pipes round it to get to it but if your taking the engine out to do the clutch id do it while it was all out

the engine is out and the head is off.

The marking in the rotor holding is not in the center of the rotary arm.

It was this way when i removed the distubutor cap. (engine intackt)

Maybe it was i "notch" off ?

I can show you a picture later.
Will be mounting some parts to night...

it wont be it will be a couple of degrees to one side as it wont spark till just after TDC IIRC

the cover plate with the window in it is fixed to the shaft, and the rotor arm is keyed so so long as you aline those marks your cant go wrong

Now i have mounted it all back.
TDC cyl1

Cams TDC 0<->0 but it doesent matter how i set the cams.
It always sets 3 mm lover or higer than the line ?!?

Should i adjust so the two are in line ?

Its alligned in tdc as the pictures shows

But you said something about spark before TDC so it might be right ?

The engine is back in the car. im conecting all wires tonigt but i want to know that i alligned the "ignition" right.

you need to twist the body of the dizzy to aline them,

ah f3ck hang on looks like you still have the anti tamper plate on,

you need to remove the plate to accsess the M8 lock nut so you can loosen it and move the body of the dizzy round,

how come its not rigt of it newer been moved ?

If i get this right:
CYL 1 TDC
Damper marking > cover marking

cams 0 <-> 0 against etchother.

then the marking should be straight on. ?

i have to adjust 3 or 4 mm only.

Must i remove the rocket cover to really se cam adjustment ?
