Benefits of a 7a exhaust cam?

ok, been looking about and have been trying to get a definitive answer on the benefits of chucking in a 7a exhaust cam in my 3b....

    My current setup is:

    3b
    Stock K24 turbo
    Nugent homefry
stock exhaust manifold and downpipe mated to a cat back s/s exhaust

If i change the 3b exhaust cam for the 7a (or a complete 7a head) what will i 'get' back in terms of performance/sound/driveability/flow/ etc.

From what I can see i get a bit extra flow towards the top end but whats the compromise?

I need to change the rocker cover gasket due to a weep and what's the interval on the cam chain as i think mine is rattling and at 174k its original as far as i know....

    Cheers

David, I think you'll loose your bottom end torque if you throw a 7a exhaust cam at your setup. It does open the top end up, however, this isn't going to help with the k24, as it will have run out of guts at the higher end of the rev range.

Cheers Steve....really is no point then on that until a change of turbo is more likely - its not on the horizon with a house move worse luck lol
