    Re - fuel pump dying?

I had an issue regarding what i thought was a slight misfire but it seems that the problem is now more hesitance. the car nearly cut out at idle this morning which set me wondering whether i have a fueling problem.

the is seeming ever more lethargic so i thought maybe i have the fuel pump getting weak or a blockage in the fuel filter or injectors. do you get any noise from the pump as it starts to fail which would let me know that it is failing?

I know on the coupe with the pump mounted in the tank that they start to humm very loudly when on their way out.

My fuel pump just died with no prior warning, but it is very common to start hearing noises from the pump if it is on the way out - usually a noisy hum noticable especially at start up.

If I were you I would first consider checking the lambda (this will show error codes on VAGCOM if you can get access to it) and clean your ISV (Idle Stabilisation Valve).

Can a ISV cause any sought of misfire? Mine is dodgy i know that maybe that could be causing my overboost protection?
