Still stuck!!
Tried 2 different TPS and the car still keeps stalling now and then.
Its gotta be ignition related because of the backfire.
Any other ideas guys?
Maybe a bad earth connection on one of the sensors?
The 1.8T coils im using have their own pos built in.
Im getting 0.95k ohm when closed
and 2.45k ohm when fully open.
Thats not the prob,
Looks like an intermittent break in one of the ground wires connected to the inlet manifold
I am going to play 'stupid' here. What evidence is there that 1.8T coil packs are c/w S2/RS2 given they have different specs and ECU to 'talk to' ?????
I may well have missed previous posts on the subject, so apologies in advance if I should have looked it up but my work connection is so slow.
Just caught up with the 034 1.8T cover on cover off story. Useful to know the originals will need replacing at 120K (99777 on the clock now)
Have to agree with 'his nugent' on this one

I developed the conversion and DIY instructions based on my AAN-powered 93 S4 in Sept. 2005.
The AAN, ABY and ADU are much the same mechanically and electrically. There are several people here on the S2 forum with ABY engines that made the conversion successfully so I would say "the proof is in the pudding." I have not heard of an RS2 owners making the conversion so I can't say whether it works on them or not. It does not work on the single coil, distributor-equipped, 3B engine.
