          Oops, V - power.
Tried it today at 99.9p a litre
Never been one to notice much of a difference in performance between any of the super unleaded stuff, no matter where it came from. Optimax used to give me a couple more miles to the gallon. That's it.
BUT, WOW. What a difference the car feels with this V-power stuff, a lot more responsive, seems like less lag (if that's possible) and car pulls a LOT stronger.
My car is un-chipped and standard apart from an RS2 intercooler and thought I wouldn't notice it to be honest.
Wish I'd never tried it now, at 99.9p a litre it's going to be hard to justify it.

I got my V-power club card in the post this morning. I've obviously been using a fair bit of Optimax. I shall have to try some V-power this weekend, that's if I can find a stretch of road where the traffic is actually moving!! Cornwall at bank holiday weekend isn't funny!! Bloody foreigners.

Its not the RON guys - its the MON - this Vpower juice is great. It has been in Europe for a while now.

I'll buy a hat and eat it if Shell bring this juice to my part of the world. Dangit

Could not agree more. Used this stuff a lot in France and Switzerland. The S2 coupe flew using it. Pity I have a full tank of Ultimate to use before the RS2 gets a chance to enjoy it.
Wonder if all those e mails to Shell helped ????!!

Anyone got any tech stats on this stuff, particularly vs. Tesco99, which for my S2 seems to be the equivalent of rocket fuel - I really notice the difference vs. ordinary super unleaded or even worse, the bog standard cooking fuel.

I don't have any data on the V-Power just introduced here, but to give an idea: Optimax is guarenteed 98RON, but only 86MON which gives an (R+M)/2 value of 92 (Typically 93).

After using V-Power 99 i would say the MON value is almost certainly higher than 86.

It's a shame we don't use the (R+M)/2 value here, as I believe they do in the US. It gives a better representation of the quality of fuel, and could further improve standards if companies had to own up to the poor MON values.

Filled up yesterday with this stuff, first time my car has run on decent fuel since it was mapped on tesco's 99. It really is great stuff

I spanked a Evo 5 and kept up with a Evo 7 on the way home the other day and that was only on BP ulitmate, what with my new suspension and brakes, this fuel just finishes my car off nicely. Shame its getting sold.

                                Cheers,
                                Chris
