Ive just got my s2 going again after a turbo change and injectors.head gasket etc. Took it down the road for 10 miles at no more than 2000 rpm and its just spewed its guts out all over the drivewater and oil mixed AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Not a good sign
Did you do the head gasket yourself or was it at a garage?? if I'd just paid up to have a HG done and it failed like that, I might be having a few words. Especially if it was a dealership - probably had the work experience lad do it...
HA HA no mate i did it but it was done right with lots off experience. im well pissd off tho as you can imagine. used all the top bits and pieces as well. It was fine when i heated it up on tick over. did that for 3 days just to make sure everythin was ok before i took her out. Corey from Quattrinics told me not to take it over 3000 rpm so i didnt go above 2500 and it seemed fine for the first few miles then everythin went pear shaped. OH well guess i will get the tools out again eh
Agh I feel for ya... yeah all those gaskets etc sure add up! I had a huge bill with Vagparts when my rebuild was done a few months back!! At least you dont have to worry about the huge labour bill tho...good luck getting her back running!
Thanks M8. Ive spent around 2k on the best bits for her so it makes it worse i guess.Im sure it will be worth all the time and effort in the end ha ha. Oh well into the garage i go.
Right, its dumped mayo all down the back of the engine and onto the gearbox bell housing? Im not convinced that the head gasket has failed but i do know that the only way you get mayo is oil & water mixed. But how can a brand new H/G fail after just 5 mins down the road at no more than 3000rpm? There is more oil in the rad than water,is it possible i could have put a water pipe onto an oil pipe? i cant have i put everything back exactly the way it came off
This is diong my head in now HA HA
I guess its off with her head to look closer and see if it has failed or not
