My 2p worth, i sense they now focus on S4's and RS4's as my mate has just had some work done ( about £1.2k's worth of mech work ), he phoned them a few weeks ago and the car was booked in and the work completed in 7 days. just go to rs246.com and see their fanbase.Tim

sorry about the lack of repsones. I never turn away a phone call - but the trouble is that I get about 10 to 15 emails a day asking for advice - and if I reply to everyone I would spend all day answering, then each answer gets more questions - if you phone, I will always talk over what needs done as it is a lot quicker than answering open ended emails.
Not much of an excuse but sorry again - if anyone want sto try again - email me or phone.S2,RS2,S4 WB,RS4,S4 B8,RS6 C5,RS6 C6,R8Comment

guys,
I've just got back from having my B5 S4 (i.e. a 2.7T) given the once over by MRC (mostly because of my natural paranoia
). Mihnea is away at the moment (continental tuning
) and Doug is working round the clock and doing an awesome job, as always. Sometimes the phone isn't always answered first time - because you just can't be everywhere at once. my advice would be try again 20 minutes later - it always works for me, and I've rung Doug at least a dozen times in the last two weeks (poor *******!
). He's even rung me several times, which given my car was (a) low priority and (b) essentially completely healthy, i was very grateful for.
IMO MRC are (temporarily) massive victims of their own (a) competence and (b) honest helpfulness which has resulted in demand levels that have temporarily slightly outstripped their limits. Their service is a massive credit to them - I really cannot recommend them highly enough
. It is truly confidence inspiring seeing Doug cut straight to every single problem on your car, and then patiently explain to a numpty like me exactly what the problems were, where they were, and even how to look for them myself in future etc etc.
That is, to me, FAR MORE IMPORTANT customer service than having some idiot answer the phone and pass on a garbled message to some engineer.
Just my 2p, obviously, but their existence alone is almost enough to make we want to move nearer to Banbury

The lesson here is to use the phone and expect you may have to try several times. I have never had an issue myself and witnessed D&M answering the phone all day when I was getting work done.
I have to agree it is better to wait and talk to D&M rather than a 'receptionist'. I have talked to many garages/tuners and the receptionist is usually a waste of time unless you are simply booking in. Even that can be a waste if you have not already talked through the job with those doing it.
Good example is Star performance in Fife. Left a message re RR session plus a few questions with the receptionist 6 months ago. Still waiting for the call back !!!
MRC are IMHO worth the effort and will continue to be worth the effort. I would suggest we are unlikely ever to see a new tuner with the knowledge these guys have re the S2/RS2.Alastair

IME a company that answers the phone and says they can do the job straight away, is normally a bad sign. If the person answerering the phone is that good, why are they sat on their árse waiting for you to call?
Mihnea and Doug are just a victim of their own success. For a very good reason. Give them a call and get in line. It will be worth the wait.
I doubt you'll find a pair that are more competent and passionate about their work on VAG cars as they are.
Just do a search on this forum, if you doubt it.
Yes, they do spend a lot of time fixing S4s. But then, who else can fix them?
It is a shame that some of the people who reallly know these cars well, are too busy to be on this forum.

I can understand your problem, like most tuners you are asked to dead and only a few % actually spend money. Perhaps that is the reason why we don't have Dahlback, VS Motors, KRB, MTM, etc, etc on the forum?Originally posted by Doug_RS2sorry about the lack of repsones. Maybe it is best to make some sort of "hour of consult"? Like you can only contact a given phonenumber between let's say 17-19h on monday, wednesday and friday. With only this phone contacting possiblity you prevent endless e-mail contact and makes it easier to listen and ask questions vice versa.
Other
enquiries can be handled here on the forum?
