Leads for the 3B

I am in need of a new lead for the car so I may aswell replace the whole set while I am at it....

Which would be best and any guide on price and the best place to get them from.

Just put in the car details and you get a choice of three sets. I went for the black 7mm, but the blue 8mm fits also, so I'm told. Both under £80.

Jees price varies so much from place to place difference of £20 so far from top to bottom.

Notice there is free delivery on the site I mentioned too when comparing.

Btw, best to use the new lead retainers supplied with the Magnecors. The original ones are too hard/sharp and I've seen them cut through the leads silicon jacket.

Cheapest I have found the leads are £92 in del from a guy on ebay who deals with magnecor....
Most expensive is £124 and that was only for the 7mm leads. Tweeks are in the middle believe it or not

Or buy a set of 7A leads from Audi, thats what I did, they just fit under the cover.

Newesh, 7A leads are the same then? Thought there was a difference somewhere. Plus will the 7a leads take the extra heat that a 3B kicks out?

Erm just looked at mangecor pricingon 7A leads and they are about £40 more expensive than 3B ones !!!

The Audi genuine 7A leads are quite a bit cheaper than the 3B ones, the end that attaches to the spark plug is a little longer but they will still just fit under the black cover. Have no idea about the magnecor ones..

I have 7A leads fitted to my 3B with no problems. The cover fits on too, although Doug did it so I'm not sure if longer bolts are needed. Leads came from GSF I recall, so were reasonably priced.

there was a thread not too long ago and somebody had an alternative to magnecor at a good price, personally I am running the 8mm magnecors they have been great

Sure are Rob. Though of course I had the RR leads for my RR-engined quattro, they list the 3B leads too. I think the coil lead length is different between RR and 3B leads for some reason (though Magnecor gives the length on their listing tables).
