those of you that know your cams how will my 7a inlet and exhaust cams deliver the power ? .
i know lots of people on here only use the exhaust cam from 7a and not the inlet as well . will i only get good power at high up in the rev range ?.

Doug tried the 7A inlet and exhaust and lost power no matter how it was mapped. on the other hand though Jamo has a 7A inlet cam and his car works pretty well not sure what the exhaust cam is though

Nearly right Greg Dougs car gained 3bhp but lost some low/mid range torque. I've been thinking of fitting mine but might get it slightly re-profiled. Have you fitted the RS2 one on your car yet Greg??

        Cheers,

It drives really well low to mid range but i'm on the RS2 setup

My old car (now Ross' car) has the 7A exhaust cam fitted and i had it re-mapped with that cam in, and it goes really well on the K24 setup, i saw over 300bhp on well lanes dyno, a bit optimistic for the K24 i know but i'm thinking it'll be interesting to see what figures it does next weekend.

                Cheers,

Oh and as for the re-profiling, i might see if i can find out what specs the RS2 cam is have it done some thing like that if i can. Knowing me tho, i'll just end up chucking it in as it is

i wanted to see how they work together .i have a fairly laggy k26/27 turbo as it is but because the turbo is laggy i wonder if the cams might work better with this turbo in mid range

Might do if you get more duration on the exhaust cam, can only be a good thing. When Doug used his 7A inlet cam and exhaust cam he was using a K26/7 with a #8 hotside.
                      Cheers,

cams is a dark art and difficult to know the results until you try them i suppose

Certainly is mate, i'm only going from what other people have tried.

Well you have a fair bit on lately mate by the sounds of it. Are you going to be at the R/R meet Greg? If so could you bring the RS2 inlet cam so i can do some measurements.

                            Cheers,

My S4 is equipped with both NM (rare Audi 2.0 20V 80/90 engine) cams and the car performs great with the tubular mani and Gt3071R! I was really surprised comparing the car to K24 setup - nothing is lost really. Thought the NM cams are not as agressive as 7A cams and theoretically should stay between rs2 and 7A cams setups. You can get better info about all cams in the 20V_kruemmer Yahoo groups.
