Hey what is the difference between the s2 motor vs urs4/s6 motors? I know that the intake is on the opposite side right? Also will the heads from the s2 fit the s4 motor, and which one is stronger? The reason Im asking is because I have a 90 CQ and I want to do a turbo swap in it and want to find a cheap route to swap and I think that a full s2 motor would cost alot.

meaning that I can put the s2 head on the s4 block? What about the block is one stronger then the other? Also is there a huge differance in the two motors, which would be better to swap into a 90 CQ?Originally posted by BillmanThe S2-ABY head and the UrS4/S6 - AAN head are the same.
Edit: Also by differance I mean strength too for example the supra has an iron block and the na doesnt. Also what about my stock 20v na motor would I be able to turbo that Ive seen a guy rebuild and turbo a 7a block and heads, would this be as reliable and make the power and be equivalent to a s4 or s2 swap?Last edited by andy112; 12 November 2006, 01:12.Comment

Andy: Where are you in Canada? There are people across Canada that have swapped in 3B and AAN 20v turbo engines into coupe quattros produce something close to the S2 (which was never imported into Canada).

I am by Toronto. Do you know how much a s4/s6 motor and 6 speed goes for at a scrap yard?Originally posted by UrS4boyAndy: Where are you in Canada? whats different about the inlet tract? Also the AAN motor being the s4/s6 motor right,Originally posted by DJonesI have heard it said that the AAN is a better engine.... Personally i think they are identical (AAN/ABY) apart from inlet tract.Comment

A complete UrS4 (1992-94) parts car with engine will go for about $3000 to $4000. AANs alone are usually in the $2500 range, if you can find one. There were no 6 spd UrS cars in North America. We have been upgrading to CBR 6 spds from RS2s (also NOT imported to North America) or B5 S4 tt (EDU or DSY).Originally posted by andy112I am by Toronto. The AAN has the throttle body near the front of the engine (there is more room because the engine bay is longer in the C4 body than the B3/B4 shells). The 3B, ABY and ADU engines all had the throttle body at the rear of the intake manifold.
I will contact you with Personal Mail to get your email address so I can connect you to a couple of guys in Ontario that I know are doing this conversion. There is also R33girl in Ottawa who has done a conversion.

The engines are "basically" the same except for the intake and intercooler solution, I think everything is pretty much bolt-on with the exception of some "home made" fittings here and there, no bigger issues anyway. And the trannies for S4 TT fits without hassle2004 9-5 aero

So after talking to a few people they say to go 3b or aan with 3b intake. Is the intake on the aan the only limiting factor or the only thing preventing an easy swap? The people I talked to said that if I went aan I would have to move PS, rad and lines and ac so if I went aan with 3b intake would I avoid all these issues??Originally posted by prostyThe engines are "basically" the same except for the intake and intercooler solution, I think everything is pretty much bolt-on with the exception of some "home made" fittings here and there, no bigger issues anyway. I went with the AAN motor because it was easier to locate stateside. Incidentally you can put a 3b intake manifold on the aan, and the PS pump. The only issue is the throttle body will rub against the head of the motor, so you'll need a phenolic spacer. Here's a link to check them out. $160 usd shipped.
hope it helpsAAN 20vt conversion
