I was (past tense) under the impression that the I5 2.5L transporter block had all the mounting bosses that would allow it to be "easily" mounted in an S2 or, in my case, a 93 C4 body S4 (where the AAN sits now). Someone has suggested to me that my assumption was wrong and that motor/engine mounts have to be fabbed to make it work rather than just bolting OE mounts to the 2.5 L block.
Anybody with direct experience with this?

HI
ARE YOU REFERING TO THE T25 VW TRANSPORTER ??????
IN SOUTH AFRICA WE HAD THE T25 VW TRANSPORTER MICRO BUS/CARVELLE
WITH THE 2.5 LITER 5 CYLINDER AUDI ENGINE (later made to 2.3 and 2.6 liter).....FROM THE UITENHANGE(incorrect spelling) FACTORY IN SOUTH AFRICA
THIS ONE WAS SAME AS THE BLOCK AS THE C3 AND C4 AUDIS( 100 AND A6 SHAPE AUDI)
the 2,4 AND 2,5 DIESELBLOCK fit in old vw passat 32b too.... bolt on, no prob....and i used the unit from a vw 84 passat..... so you use the unit from the engine who WAS in the bay....
Yup & here in the good ol US of A I'm using a Eurovan 2.5l gas block & 95.5mm crank & it's bolt in to the 90 CQ US model. Board it out to 83mm & vwella 2.6l monster!
