Not in an ADU engine. It's meant to be half a tooth out.

My car is on the 1st picture and it wont start unless throttle is given. Then stalls.

Just to mention I run vems therefore I don't have moronic fault codes. I do get primary trigger setting error message though.

if you set the timing to the right it will be running like crap and if you dont hit accelarator it will idle for a few seconds and the engine goes off.. so the right setting would be half toof out to the left.

Rxl it does exactly that, by mistake we thought it was to the right rather than the left

            Hello,

Any of both do not have a correct timming. You have in any case a half tooth advance or delay on camshaft so the hall sensor reads wrong.

These are the most probably cause of this problem.

            1- your camshaft pulley belongs to a S2 ABY o S4 AAN //

2- your camshaft pulley it is correct but when water pump was changed a 29 tooth WP pulley (mostly of 5 Cyl) was used instead of 26 th ( RS2 ADU)

I can see in your picture, your Pulley PN is finished in B so is the one for the ADU. Check you Water Pump and count the number of tooth.

My car is an ADU. Pulley is ADU and water pump pulley is ADU, camshafts ADU as well.

My question was about the half tooth out which I always remembered wrong, as in ADU engine it never falls on the mark.

We have put it like picture 2 and it works perfectly.

So at least we have an image for the forum as I couldn't find one.
