  • Unknown connector on ADU engine

I recently bought an Audi RS2 with original ADU engine.
At first sight, the car runs normally.
However, I found a strange connector next to the inlet manifold, which is not connected anywhere.
Can anyone tell me where this connector should lead to?
Is it harmful that it is not connected? What are the consequences?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Based on the location and the lack of connector connected to the brake fluid reservoir level sensor on the side of the tank, I think you have your answer = brake fluid level sensor connector.

Looks like the fluid level sensor is damaged. Replacement reservoir needed and then full system bleed with good brake fluid.

Brake level connector color matches my rs2. Also had one with a broken reservoir connector.

Thanks a lot for your swift replies!
Should indeed be the connector to the brake fluid reservoir. Quite stupid that I didn't see that myself.

Since I changed my brake hoses, I was anyhow planning to change the brake fluid. I only fear some issues when bleeding the ABS pump. Can I replace the brake fluid reservoir without having to bleed the ABS pump?

Reservoir change doesn't need to much fluid bleeding, as it is the top part of the system. Just make sure you don't spill it on your paintwork. If you don't live to far away i can help you out if you want. I live near aarschot.

If it is the same tank as in the Ur-S6 -> the level sensor is a separate piece -> no tank replacement necessary...

Parts catalogue seems to give this as seperate part indeed. 893611377A

Thanks a lot for your responses!
I easily removed the sensor by sliding it out. Apparently, the sensor doesn't "touch" the fluid inside the reservoir, I assume it works with a magnetical floater inside the reservoir.
Anyhow: the reservoir doesn't leak when you slide out the sensor.

Ordered the sensor (part number 893611377A) from Audi (costs 13 euro, excl VAT).

Agree. I liked it so much I put it all together into an info post on my home forum so the UrS boys could see the problem and the solution.

Is yours RS2 LHD ? Must be if it is in Belgium
Mine is LHD, and with ADU, but brakes can be different
Probably I have used as donor car from UK when converted to vacuum brakes
as this sensor on my car is on other side then yours.
