    How to meassure intake temperature?

I'want to try a little expiriment. Therefore i need to know if it is possible to meassure the temperature after the intercooler before it goes into the engine. I was hoping that there is a sensor that i can tap into and recieve a voltage and the operate a nozzle.

If this is possible, i wanted to mount a nozzsel that fine sprays water over the intercooler. For an exsamble, if the temperature becomes higher then 40 degress C. Then you spray som water on the IC, so it cools better. Like the system used on the Subaru Sti!

Have you fitted yours yet Marco?

I hope to do it in the next couple of weeks - but with this cold weather it is not going to make much difference.

I have a windscreen water bottle from an Audi 100 - it's 4 litres, has 2 pumps, and a level sensor - got it from the scrapyard. It will fit in the small gap at the right of the boot under the carpet. You could just use the bottle under the bonnet and not bother having the headlamp washers.

If you look in the group buys section - there is a contact to a guy at autospeed - you could try emailing him first to see if you can still get a discount through this forum.

The headlamp washers share the main windscreen washer bottle - which isn't a bad thing - when gettting low on water you will get the warning light.

If you are doing that you will just need the controller and nozzles - I got 2 nozzles.

Oki does this mean there is a seperat pump to the fog lamps?

But is it not a problem to spray window wash water over the intercooler? Cuz in my water bottle it is not just water, but water with something in it that prevents the water for freezing?

Did u buy the ECU in the plastik box or just the board?

I think there is a seperate pump for the headlamp washers - I'm sure I have seen 2.

The washer fluid will help cooling further.

I got the ECU in the plastic box.

So i guess i could use the fog lamps tubes and just mount two brass nozzles in the end?

But you would recommand two nozzles for a standard 3B IC?

I've not fitted mine yet, but 2 nozzles will give better coverage over the intercooler.

you can always try them and if it isn't very good, you can source the pump they recommend
