      Really? He must be a magician now too.
      You can skim the housing to remove axial clearance, you can't do anything about radial clearance without having new gears machined or you can try micropolishing and a DLC coating, both of which costs about the same as a new pump anyway!

          Last time I looked at 2.5 diesel block I’m sure pump was identical to 3b oil pump? Could be wrong and Jp does recon the oil pump if it’s serviceable condition he told me with out sending it to him he can’t tell all best michael

            My pump needs new gears .. .Options are a new pump or new gears if I find any .I remember seeing at one time someone selling upgraded gears.

              What's wrong with your gears? Generally the housing wears out first.

                I think in Finland I got my diamond coated gear £110 including postage few years back.

                  IIRC it was Repo who had some made.

                  I can do some gears wire eroded and DLC coated but to be honest the appetite for quality and the associated cost has waned on this forum in recent years and it’s not worth the hassle when Febi will supply you with a mediocre new pump for less money.

                      Main reason for aftermarket oil pump gear is to avoid pump failure. In some cases the outer gear has cracked in pieces. Aftermarket gear is made of better material that doesn't crack so easily.

                            I had the original oil pump and bought a new one .Old one had backlash on years and a bit of wearing on central casing.I didn't had any problems with oil pressure everything is in great condition inside the block.I don't want to take any risks on my new rebuild engine that's all.
