Going to a local supplier of silicon hoses they uses 4 ply. Will see what they have.
I also noted a difference in shape of the hose that goes to the BPV when using a Roose silicon hose.
Can anybody offer an explanation why Audi designers would make such an loop on the original instead of the simple looking route the Roose silicon hose takes.
I am thinking it is because of the engine flexing and the BPV being static, the loop just takes the movement up while keeping the BPV static??? I see the loop also goes through a steel support ring also think it could be to reduce the movement on the BPV.Comment

Don't forget to block the breather off or you'll pressurise the crank case and end up with lots of blue smoke on startup as well as a leak on the oil cap
No idea why the BPV was dome like that other than for servicing, as it can easily be pulled out.
Get the Roose kit, it's a quality product.Cheers'en, AndyC

Leak fixed.
Still deciding what to replace the original pipe with.
While deciding what pipe to buy original or silicon I had a 316 SS thin walled T pipe made, cut the rubber T pipe out and fitted my metal home made T piece. Pressure holding leak fixed. No test drive yet giving the underside a good HP clean and fitting the 996 front calipers first.Comment
