    RS2 - Auto check coolant level/temperature

    Hello,

I have my autocheck coolant level/temperature yellow signal ON, but both temperature and level are OK.
I have changed recently the F76/MFTS sensor and had no problem during some months.

Can be this someting else than again a defect on the F76/MFTS ?

Check the level of the power steering reservoir it will bring a coolant warning light on to

Low coolant level in the header tank gives the warning. Disconnect the wiring plug under the coolant header tank to see if the warning goes away.

Give the MFTS casing a tap with a socket bar or something, sometimes that will stop the warning. There’s a spring contact inside the unit which can have a poor connection

I've removed the pug on my MFTS and it was full of water ! So it means that my new MFTS is defect. My was a Behr at +/- 40€. Audi sell the MFTS at nearly 200€ !

Have you been washing the engine bay and got water inside it?

It should have a rubber/plastic boot covering it, if it doesn't I would get something over it as the terminals do deteriorate fairly quick when immersed in water.

No washing, and the rubber covering was in place and was tightly placed.

The water has come from above and filled the rubber boot, I’ve had this happen.
Either leaking through the thread or through the sensor, but most likely the thread didn’t seal properly.

Should have a copper washer on the MFTS. My newly fitter Audi OEM came with a copper washer and it sealed ok. Also put some thread tape on.
