Engine re build

I'm in a bit of a quandary over what to do with my engine re build. I have found someone locally who has agreed to assist me in honing the bores and changing the rings, but I would far rather take the engine to an expert who knows the S2 inside out. Its nearly 40 years since I stripped my FS1E, and that only had 1 piston! I don't want to make a mistake and break something, so my confidence at tackling this part of the restoration is very low. My tools are not really up to scratch either and I would have to invest in new torque wrenches etc. to do a proper job.
Could someone recommend an 'expert', hopefully in Wales or not too far into England?
I would leave it alone and hope for the best, but my engine has completed 190k and has sat for four years out of the car.

As you know I would recommend Pete Berry here in my neck of the woods but there is also Aelred, if he’s still doing it, in Swindon which is a bit closer to you.

FS1E very cool . Did it have 1 piston when you put it back together. I bet you wish you still had it £££.

North Wales is a hell of a place to get to from here. It's quicker to drive to London, believe it or not!
Aelred might be a good option as he did the head some years ago. I will send him a PM.
What's Pete Berry's workload like John? Isn't he doing your UR Q?

Yes, Wish I had kept it (FS1E) and the RD250, CB650, CX500, K100RS etc....................
The FS1E was good after my spanners but the 10v 100 Quattro needed a new head when I cracked it using a stud extractor on a manifold bolt
It was easy back then though. Just popped up to the breakers and got another one. You cant do that with an ABY head!

Danny st DNA Autocare or Brian Tonx both in Nottingham will both do a quality job. They are both members on the forum albeit not that regular these days. These guys would look after you 100%
