561 fault code... any ideas?

After encountering my first B7 RS4 for a traffic light GP, which i killed him up to 30 then got a nice miss fire and he left me listening to the little V8 howl.

vag com says 561 mixture adaption not reached.

Any ideas? 561 is not on ross tech list...

Got the same on mine (95 ABY) but mine runs fine.

Ive changed the lambda but still there.

Corry suggested cleaning/replacing the MAF.

I'm going to clean mine in IPA over night this week ill let you know how I get on.

Edit: just been thinking about this, it cant really be anything other than the lambada or the MAF nothing else controls the mixture.

Just found an old post on Audi-sport.net could be

Fuel pressure low- unlikely.
air leak down stream of air mass meter- most likely!!!

I will do a pressure tomorrow.. and then go find mr RS4 again!!!!

You could be right there with boost leak.

After I changed the lambda I went from "not reached" to "Exceeded"

Not sure what this means ?

Ill clean my MAF and while its off to a leak test.

Nobbed off,
no leak, cleaned maf, still got code and miss fire.

looks like i need a new maf.




just the expense i need at the moment!!

561 can also mean a missfire! Got it pulled on mine the other day.

Could be inlet/exhaust leak
MAF
Lambda
Fuel pressure
Missfire!

Also got 544 Max boost exceeded, but i am guessing that is because of the other one

Oh and the ever present engine speed one cos it was not running

Cleaning the MAF as i type, need it on for the trip to inters in the morning

i got the same fualt today.It clears out as i erase the fault codes,but mine is intermittent.
reading from s2central,it could be leak in exhaust before catalysts,MAF,fuel pressure regulation.

Now all i have got is a bit of roughness in idle but no up and downs,and lots of rich mixture....and i mean A LOT!!! what do you suggest???

I just changed the maf back to my previous one cause the new one gave me all this as well as a VERY unstable idle.I also checked the 2 samco hoses i have from the maf to the turbo inlet and they seem fine.I took extra care to tighten everything back together...This maf i have now is practically new as well,no more than 6-7months old.
About the fuel pressure regulation,what should i check??

I just got rid of this code at last!
N75 changed for new one, made a huge difference, stopped slightly poor idle, loads more bottom end power.
Also changed maf to a new one, better again, uses less fuel, goes faster!

Change the N75 first.

changed the lambd and still getting the same results

it seems that when i remove the MAF plug when on idle,the car seems to run a bit smoother.And when i replace it it goes at it again.So im guessing that i have found the usual suspect....

awaiting for the maf replacement....
