  • Should there be a bolt through the 3b cam idler pulley

    Just changed the water pump on my 3b s2 and noticed there is no bolt through the centre of the cam idler pulley ,should there be one

    yes, there should be. Surprised you've not got an oil leak as it goes into an oil way

      Thanks for that . This is quite worrying as the guy doing the work said he did not take one out . So it’s ether been running without one or it has snap of in some way . What size is this bolt and does it have a part number.

        It's M6x62, N010 368 1. Just reading your first post. We are talking about the pulley in the oil pump ?

            These pics where taken this morning showing the idler pulley in question . The bolt is missing and, I have since found out that it is 6mm bolt that fits through the 8mm hole . Is the pulley pressed onto the oil pump . As mentioned above the bolt go’s into an oil way . Is the bolt there to simply hold the pulley in place or is it to help clamp the oil pump .

              yes there should be a bolt - M6 as above. The pulley is a press fit into the oil pump. The bolt is just a locator for the pulley but it also fills the oil way
