Buy a new tensioner roller and give it to a good machine shop, ask them to make a press on sleeve to increase the outer diameter. Done this before on a stroker engine using a 3B water pump.

Any idea how much they took off? Sounds like you might need a bigger head gasket. Definitely sure you have the right belt too?
Not sure how much exactly, but they said it wasn’t a lot. I’ve heard others had issues with the 3B belt being a little slack when OEM, makes sense it would slack more after a little machining.

We found a belt pretty much identical to the 3B one, from an Opel. One tooth shorter and 1mm wider, we’ll try that one, should work. If it doesn’t, we’ll try the press on solution since i’ve got a spare roller laying around.
Gates 5367xs for the record.

Are you sure on that number? According to this the 5376xs belt is 226 teeth by 30mm wide??
