cam belt position is looking odd

There is a brand called SWAG , that has the bolt . Do you know anything about the brand ?

SWAG brand is ok..some parts they delivered as an OEM parts , but you will noticed that stock Audi marks are grinded, because they cant sell it as OEM ones, but they are..Febi as well, good brand.

Hmm, that Febi one looks more like the bolt for a 3B or 10V motor, I have some used ones in my workshop, will take a look in the morning.

Got the lower cambelt sprocket .. behond the sprocket ,, there should themm washer be.. so first wasgher then sprocket.. correct ?

If not ,,, what stops the sprocket to move it self towards the engine/crankshaft ?

Behind the sprocket there is nothing , , the only thing that makes it stop go in is the groove in the shaft. It should come about 4mm or so. The thick washer goes in front .There was nothing else when i disassembled it .. hmmmm .. getting tired .....

The diamond washer fits in that slot on the pulley. Did you get a new one?

Now i get it ,, when you put on the complete set of pulleys ,, then that will be what holds it .. and the washer must go under the bolt head .. correct ?

Yes, diamond washer goes in slot on the outside of the bottom pulley after its on the crank. Fit the vibration damper over that and main bolt in the middle. Bump on the outside of pulley lines up with vibration damper. Refer to my earlier pic I sent you.

, it's been few years since I did a belt on an ABY/ADU and I honestly can't remember if there's a thick washer in front of the pulley or not. However my memory says no there isn't one and I can't find one on any of the diagrams I've just looked up, just an 18mm bolt with a shouldered head. Maybe Dave or someone else who's done the job on an ABY/ADU more recently can chime in here.

So i understood as KIT wrote ,, it should be behind the bottom cam belt pullley.

But better to measure twice and do once.

Thats why im checking twice. But no i know ,, first the pulley vand then the diamond washer , the belt hub and then the damper.

I think Kit meant behind the damper. The diamond washer fits in the recess in the bottom belt pulley which can only fit one way as it engages with the slot on the crankshaft. Put it all together and it's self evident.
