I thought I had an easy task on my hands, swap the Homefries chips into the already RS2 spec ECU p/n 4A0907551B.
But having done this the car starts and stalls after a second or so. So, I'd assume the immobiliser is kicking in. So would this indicate that the Homefries are non immobiliser chips? I have refitted the chips that came with the ECU and the car starts fine, so have ruled out an ECU fault.
I have done some other testing with two other completely standard ECU's I have and:
895907551B - Starts then stalls after a second or so.
4A0907551C - Starts and runs, no issues.
Is there a way to get these chips working with the RS2 spec ECU? Any work arounds or other pointers would be appreciated. Via PM if the immobiliser information is best kept off a public forum.
