Boost falling off more than it should at high RPM?

Oh well.. Had the DV off and looked it over, seems to be perfect, no sign of any leaking or sticking. I'd kind of remembered what a b'stard the DV is to get to, kind of, it was worse though and took longer.. Why is it that you have to take so much stuff off to get to it??
And, why is it that when you've got all the stuff off it gets dark and starts raining??
So I'm still

Stopping the injectors from leaking seems to have stopped the boost gauge needle from wobbling.. which is nice.. Boost is still dropping off and can be revived by lifting off and flooring again.Comment

Entire PCV system (with the exception of the carbon can valve) removed and catch tank installed, my impressions over a couple of test runs are that things are better, with the motor pulling well at the top end. The breather vents to atmosphere at the mo, I really wanted to separate it entirely from the inlet as I believe the oil vapour in the air is reducing the octane and causing the ignition to retard. I need a bit more pipe to take it out the bottom of the car, its a bit smelly in the car
I've got a length of hose just behind the front bumper with a valve on the end for draining, I'll see how quickly it fills up.
Anyone know if its going to fail the MOT with a vent to atmos?
Here's a pic, the tank is in the space behind the LH headlight, which I think is quite cool, I'm using the upper side pipe as the breather, the lower one goes the the crankcase, The cam cover drains to the "newsh special T piece" as before, the top outlet of the tank is blanked off (open in the pic. In this pic you may be able to see that I extended the 18mm hose with a bit of thin stuff, bad idea, I lost about a litre of oil out the filler cap on the second run with it like this, a right bloody mess and I was lucky not to have a fire

One more, that cutout in the rad cover is already there.
I had to fit an elbow to the bottom outlet to get the drain tube out from the corner, eventually I'll look to plumb it into the sump.Attached FilesComment

iirc correctly Newsh it wont fail for venting to atmosphere with the UK MOT...
I seem to remember a thread fairly recently where it was ascertained that in NI...it is a stricter test and would fail...but UK is fairly lax and its ok
Tom (audiman) said it doesnt mean a fail and he is an MOT tester iircComment

The hose from CC to tank and the tank vent to air is 18mm bore, the drain is 16mm.
The hose is not the fluor lined stuff, the place I bought from didn't stock it and its mega expensive, I wanted to try the system out first, the hose I used on the original PCV mods has held up fairly well actually but has discoloured and softened a little.
No way I'd use unbraided hose for the return to sump, it just doesn't feel safe to have your engine oil held in with a bit of silicon rubber and a hose clip.. So I might be interested in some of that braided line..
How much are the connectors then?
I still cant believe the mess when I inadvertantly closed the vent, took me ages to clean up, still, a little more under body rust prevention eh?
