Good evening.... My bosch 044 has given up.... looking for a drop in replace, how is the new version ? or what is recommended as a drop in replacement ?

Indeed there a great many fake Bosch units on the market from the manufacturers of Covid 19, I seem to recall Bosch 040's also being a good option.
I have a very good genuine Bosch 60mm pump, however it's just the stock S2 unit so probably not up to your power requirements, it did manage fine with my RS2 set for a while before I installed a now long gone 044 to be on the safe side.

I fitted one to my B5 RS4, used the original basket and fitted the pump with some fuel hose to take up the slack in the basket.
Had some problems with the supplied pipe bursting so when I went back in I fitted a mounting kit from 034 (bought from 034 UK distributor).
