It's hard to find anybody who will tackle Motronic these days, Automark was still doing custom mapping a couple of years ago, not sure if he still is but worth a try... What spec do you wanted tunned? There's good chip sets avaiable for the stock K24 set up and the RS2 K24 7200.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

Yeah, you will get 370bhp out of a full RS2 set up, perhaps a little more depending on the chip set. You will need an RS2 exhaust manifold, a minimum of a 2.75" down pipe, injectors, intercooler and the K24 7200 turbo which is really a K26 with an odd designation and of course software, your ECU will need a 3bar map sensor.
An RS2 airbox is a nice extra but far from essencial. No need to change the inlet manifold, Porsche simply added their logo to a stock ABY manifold casting. The best IM out of the factory castings is the RR/3B one, but how much difference this makes in the real world is open to question.
This set up is very fast! I had a custom chip set in my RS2+ spec 3B along with a Nothelle gas flowed head running 2bar of boost, it was maxing out the injectors and was quite a handful.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

I think Prj open sourced all his Motronic info so his Maps should be available, I ran a chip set from him that peaked at 1.8bar and was very drivable. TS tunning also use to offer an RS2 chip set that pushed the turbo a bit harder, upto 2bar.
Your best bet is to look out for a second hand ECU that already been done while you collect the other parts .I got lucky with my ECU it came from an RR quattro so the same as 3B, that had a custom chip set done by a guy called Hoffer who use to be very active on here but he seems to have vanished. The Maps he put in that ECU were the best out of all the options I tried. I know it was pushing the car very close to it's limits, as I say it was maxing out my injectors on WOT. I sold the ECU to a chap with an RR quattro and it made his engine spit out a con rod but he's still running it just with a new block and H-beam rods as he really likes the way the car performs.
A set of silcone hoses is also a good idea as 25+ year old ones will be prone to spliting, also replace all the small bore pipe work, it's hassle I know but again these little hoses are now really old and should be replaced as a matter of course.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

RS2+ spec is very fast as I said above.
There is what is reffered to as 'Home Fried' chip sets knocking about, they're for the stock K24 7000 and don't require any extra parts other than an engine in good order. They will take an ABY upto 270-280 bhp and they retain the safety features of the stock set up, they were written by a guy named Paul Nugent, he's one of the chaps who started this site but I haven't seen him on here for years. It may only be 50 odd bhp more than stock but is quite a step up from the stock output and nothing like as expensive as going down the full RS2 spec route, you'll need an ECU that's socketed so you can change chips so it's worth looking out for one of these for sale.
If the 280 BHP maps aren't fast enough for you then you'll need to get a 3 bar map sensor fitted to the ECU, if your fairly competent with a soldering iron and working on PCB's one can change this yourself. Then you'll need all the other parts make your car RS2 spec, this use to be a fairly cheap way of getting quite serious power back when I joined the forum, however things have changed and there's no longer used RS2 turbos available for under £500 and manifolds for £250 in the for sale section as there was back then. I got a reconditioned RS2 turbo from German eBay for £480 inculding delivery, not much chance of getting one for that price now.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

Thanks for the info David, I think he moved to Spain but not 100% sure and happy to be corrected... I thought he dabbled in writing chip sets himself as well as building some interesting KKK hybrid turbos, I was chatting to him via PM regarding a K26/7 hybrid but then he seemed to disappear overnight...
So Dimitri wrote my wild chip set, must have either been a custom one he live mapped or a copy of that software. I guess the original customer had an engine with uprated rods as the the difference between the the safe chip set he sold me and the one I got for free inside an ECU with 'Hoffer RS2 Fuel' and 'Hoffer RS2 Boost' written on them was quite considerable and like I say they blew up a stock engine after I sold it and I felt it was pushing a K24 7200 to it's limits.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

I really like my Nothelle set up. Standard injectors, Wagner EM, RS2 downpipe, RS2 cats, Miltek exhaust, Vidar hybrid RS2 turbo. Made 315 hp recently. Since then I've also fitted a RS2 intercooler. If you go too high HP you will loose bottom end and driveability.
I also love the homefries chip Trist has on his S2 Avant. Probably 280 ish with power coming in much lower down the rev range and very driveable. We had a little dual a while back on windy Welsh roads and I struggled to keep up!Nothelle S2 Avant

Your Nothelle car benifits from the flowed head much like my old 3B did, that really seems to help the turbo spool up nice and early, mine had 2bar of boost from 2.5K RPM on and it was making some boost before that, the car started to take off from as low as 2K if you were in the right gear.
315bhp is the limit of stock injectors, so your car is performing as well as it can, do you know if the boost chip in the Nothelle ECU uses a scrambler board like the one in my RS2's MTM ECU? If it does't then it would be fairly easy to copy your software.
Vidar now makes a turbo that looks like a stock K24 on the outside but is basically a match for the RS2 turbo with the right software, it would be worth contacting him to see if he can offer chip sets to go with his turbos. If I was building an S2 up again that would be my choice of turbo, he's got dyno print outs showing them performing much like the stock turbo just with a lot more power, not sure if they have the torque of a K24 7200 but it's probably pretty close.
As you say once you get into bigger turbos than the RS2 unit then drivability will suffer.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

how easy is it on a scale of 1to10 to change a chip?RS2+ spec is very fast as I said above.
