URQ 20v RR Coolant Sensor

I am also checking this as per sjm sheets - the 12v feed to the socket is OK but unsure about the sensor (it the original and the article says they are well know to fail http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/troubl...ing.html#gauge

I have ordered a new one. I also checked the Owners Manual as the digidash is showing 4 bars at high temp with ignition on

With the engine full of coolant ~15degC all 4 bars at high temp on the digidash were on so its not high temp but sending low coolant level signal. I also reads the same with the sensor connector removed so could this be a failed sensor. I havent checked the sensor on the back of the head item 9 in the above diagram (not sure what readings to take)

The Owners Manual pic is also attached which explains the segments - I have 4 bars at high temp with or without coolant and with the sensor plugged or unplugged - ignition on

I have also now checked the G62 coolant sensor at the back of the head; it was heavily calcated so cleaned it up with metal scourer and all good. Tested with MM and spot on at 2100 Ohms so refitting. Pity really as article says it can be a big cause of non start and misfiring so could have been a cause. Just wtg for new MFTS to arrive now...

Pull the rubber boot back and eyeball the wiring to the plug, mine was shorting just by the pins, worth a look.
These white coolant sensors are pretty cheap if you do want to replace.
