How much boost on 2.5kpa mapsensor? Where to get 3kpa mapsensor?

I am unsure if I have a 2.5 kpa or 3 kpa map sensor in my car right know. Iam ofcourse going to check this weekend. But assuming it is a 2.5kpa mapsensor, is it then possible to run 1.6 bar on it or is that a no go?

If I then do need a 3kpa map sensor, where can I get one? The RS2 unit is not produced anymore right? Think porkiss have meantioned one from Motorolla? Then there is Vmap, but what is the cheapest / best alternative to get?

250kPa MAP sensor gives you 2.5bar absolute pressure (MAX). For a nominal ambient pressure of 1bar that means 1.5bar boost (MAX).

The ECU works off absolute values (voltage) from the MAP... Have heard good stories about VMAP except price.

My 3b is chipped by MTM and according to my (cheap ***) boost gauge, it is running almost 1,5bar max @ 3200rpm.

Is this normal with a mtm chipset?

Yes it can - you just need to set it up for 2, 2.5 or 3 bar absolute pressure.

Ok, and with the higher boost you only can create more torque/power in the mid section, because you have max boost pressure in the mid rpm?
