    The Rising Cost OF Fuel

    Hi Guys and Girls
Yesterday I went to my local shell garage to fill up as i've been starving the car because of this fuel **** up in south england. (Just being careful) Went to the garage and selected super unleaded (can't get optimax because the garage said that it is to expensive to transport up to skye???) and filled up 58 litre of fuel with a grand total of £60.85. I just about died on the spot £1.04.9 FOR F'ING FUEL. I would start a poll but i don't know how too. In Inverness it is 98.9pence for optimax fuel a full 6pence PER LITRE cheaper and a better fuel. So thanks Mr Brown for the cost of fuel and to Donald McRae in portree i think filling up at your petrol station has paid for your new VW Tourag.

Does Anyone else have huge fuel costs?

i know what you mean mate, this country can be a rip off ! Luckily down in the south west petrol is always the cheapest in the country. Normaly pay between 86-90p per litre. When I go to London the costs are shocking

All that cost, and propane is between 30p and 50p/litre.
I have not run around in a petrol car for a while now, having gassed all of them. I have used the s2 for a month or so, and the novelty of putting petrol in has completely worn off. Waiting for my next paychech before gassing though, so its back to commuting in the range rover for a bit

Must admit, it's something that I ofter think about with the S2.

I have been looking at other cars and all of the cars I have been looking at all get mid to low 20's MPG wise. Might as well stick with the S2, as low 20's are the norm anyway. The only way I am going to get better fuel economy is to buy a diesel, and the only diesel engine I am liking at the moment is the 5.0 V10 VW/Audi TDI engine....now how would one of these fit in my avant? ;-) 300bhp and 750 nm of torque, as standard. Bloody tempting.

I am a member of the TDI sport forum and there is a guy on there with one of the fabia Vrs's and he is getting 260bhp from the 1.9 tdi engine, and he is aiming for 300bhp...
