Ignition Point Sensor, will not start.

What a couple of weeks, ignition switch is all wired in and working fine, turbo timmer has been binned

But i drove down the road and back, she made excellent boost and pull then the turbo would spool up and the trottle body would not open, just lots of boost and no power to the wheels.

Pulled the fault codes and got

James, I posted up the manual info for code 00513 yesterday.

See the bottom of this thread >>> here

Have you got the connectors for the G28 speed sensor and the engine timing sensor G4 mixed up?

Thanks Jas, Mixed up? Do you mean pluged in the wrong connections? or my diagnostic?Vag com pic

I dont think they could be pluged in the wrong way around because i made it down the road and stalled it turning into my drive after having to fit it to keep it going

How bigger job is the dizzy??

If the dizzy was dead, won't you expect a hallsender code?
It just seems strange that both those above codes are showing, and the connectors are sited next to each other. I think (not 100%) that both the G4 and the G28 sensors are sited next to each other too.
Hard for me, because the manual info I have is ABY based and not 3B, ie I'm not 100% sure if they are the same.

If this is the case i may have made a mistake some where along the lines?

                HELP

Almost two weeks have almost past to get this sensor to me from euro car parts.

Today i put the brand new sensor in (G4 ignition point sensor) And i try to start the car again with the catch tank and every thing off just incase it does not work again

Nothing just turns and turns..... Vag com shows the same fault

Where would i find the readings across the 3pins on the sensor? I have tested it and i have numbers......... But the ecu still has no signal!?

                Help please
                Chef

If you still think its the G4 sensor, and now its replaced you'll have to check from the loom connection to the ECU eg. for shorts and open circuits.

                  Good luck.

Or if you can get hold of a digi oscilloscope you can see exactly what is or isn't working.

                      Sensor full tested,
Its sending a signal to the ecu.

If the code is cleared it still returns and fails to start!?

My next question is what do i do next?

Has any one got a 3B ecu laying about that i could test on my car?

Also in my limited time off work shall i check the timming? If this could be a contruibting factor?

                      Cheers James

                        Balls!!!!!

Ece tested to the full by Iam Jemo, hit 22psi of boost in 1st iirc

2nd crank sensor from euro car parts now in and still throwing up the same fault code

Shall i bite the bullet and try a oem one at £70 ?

We have tested the plugs for a spark and nothing...... could this be the hall sender?

Any other sugestions are welcome as i have now hit a dead end.........

                        Cheers James

                          has the flywheel pin disappeared?
If its not there it won't run.
you can see by removing the starter.
